BEREA, Ky. – The Maryville Men's Soccer team battled to a 3-3 draw against Berea Wednesday night at the Berea Sports Complex, moving to 0-0-3 on the 2026 season.

The Scots jumped out to an early lead, scoring twice in the opening 14 minutes. Ben Brophy opened the scoring in the fourth minute before Ryan Buie doubled the Maryville lead in the 14th minute.

Berea cut the lead in half in the 32nd minute, sending Maryville into halftime with a 2-1 advantage.

Maryville added to its lead early in the second half when Brady Hammer found the back of the net in the 56th minute off an assist from Brophy. The goal marked Hammer's second of the season, while Brophy finished the night with a goal and an assist.

Berea answered with a penalty kick in the 76th minute before tying the match in the 82nd minute.

The Scots continued to push for a late winner, with Buie, Ethan Denney and Hammer each recording shots in the final minutes. Maryville nearly found the game-winning goal with just five seconds remaining, but Hammer's shot hit the top of the frame as the match ended in a 3-3 draw.
