Snow scratches Scots' Saturday schedule

Snow scratches Scots' Saturday schedule

Maryville College athletic administrators have made the decision to postpone the men's and women's basketball games on Saturday afternoon due to snowfall amounts in East Tennessee.

Coach Randy Lambert's squad was set to take on Berea College, as they put their 10-1 record on the line. It is the best start for a Lambert squad since the team's 11-1 beginning to the 2001-02 season.

Coach Darrin Travillian's squad is 8-3 on the season. The team was set to open USA South play this weekend, but poor weather has postponed those events.

The Scots were set to take on Salem College (2-8, 0-1 USA South) on Friday night and face archrivals Piedmont College today. The Lions are 9-4 on the year, while tallying at 2-0 mark in conference play.

A future date and time for rescheduling in the near future is being negotiated.

Maryville's next games are scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 10. The women's team will host Covenant College at 7:30 p.m. inside Boydson Baird Gymnasium, while the men's squad will travel to Covenant College - also a 7:30 p.m. tip.
