Maryville College rising senior Blake Bowman has been named to the 2016-17 NABC Honors Court. In order to be named to the Honors Court, a student-athlete must meet a high standard of academic criteria. They must be a varsity basketball player with junior or senior academic standing. The recipient must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2016-17 academic year while representing a NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA Division I or II institution with a NABC member coach.
Head Coach Randy Lambert, who just completed his 37th season with an overall record of 679-310, had this to say about Blake. "Blake Bowman is the total package. He excels in the classroom and on the court. As a student and an athlete, he has improved with each year of college. Heading into his senior year, I expect Blake to continue to perform up to his high standards."
The Knoxville, Tennessee native and alum of Karns High School is a Business major at Maryville College. This talented guard helped the Scots to a 20-7 overall record last season. In 50 career games in the orange and garnet, Blake has proved to be a 51% shooter from the floor while connecting on 31% of his attempts from beyond the arc.
