The Maryville College Scots extended their win streak to seven games on Sunday, as MC downed USA South foe Ferrum College, 90-58.
Maryville used a 57.6 percent effort from the floor on the day, while holding off a 45.7 percent effort from the Panthers.
The Scots would pull away in the game – outscoring Ferrum 42-26 in the second half – as a trio of MC players tallied 20-point efforts. Four of Maryville's starting five tallied double-digit scoring, as the Scots had 28 assists on 34 made baskets.
Saturday's victory moves Maryville – picked to win the Western Division – to a perfect 6-0 mark within league play.
Hoppa had a near double-double with nine assists, three rebounds and an block, as Nokes added seven boards, four assists, two steals and a block. Bowman tallied seven rebounds, three steals and a block.
Kaleb Estes had 13 points behind a 3-for-3 effort from beyond the arc, as he added a pair of rebounds, assists and steals. Tanner Spalding had six points off the bench, while Calvin Songster had seven assists, four rebounds, three points and a steal. Malcolm Taylor, Malcolm Walker and Jordan Griswould each had two points for the Scots.
For Ferrum (3-8, 1-2) was led by Marcus Huff's 13 points off the bench, while Nick Helton had 12 and Josh Grimard, 11.
Maryville would outboard the Panthers, 32-20, in the USA South meeting.
The Scots will look next to a pair of home conference games, as they host Methodist University on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. The will then host Greensboro College on Sunday at 3 p.m.
