The Maryville College golf team struggled to a second round 317 at the USA South Championship, being hosted by Highland Country Club in Lagrange Georgia. The team's 621 total dropped them from 7th to 8th place going into Saturday's final round.
Greensboro College held onto the lead with a second round 295. Their 581 total extended their lead to two strokes over Methodist University and puts them eight strokes ahead of Number one ranked Huntingdon College.
Logan Lanier of Lagrange College took over the top spot individually after back to back rounds of 70. His 140 total is one better than the first round leader, NC Wesleyan's Mario Silvestri. Silvestri struggled to 74 after his opening round of 67. Mason Stutler of Methodist is one behind Silvestri and four players are four behind at even par 144.
The final round is scheduled to start at 8:00 AM on Saturday.
