The Maryville College golf team finished in eight place in the Conference USA South Championship at Highlands CCin Lagrange Georgia on Saturday.
Wil Manuel once again led the Scots in the final round with a two over par 74. Manuel improved every day with scores of 79-76-74 for a total of 229 and 25th place. Garrett Compliment 78, DJ Shelton 79 and Doug Whitten 80 made up the Scots final round score of 211.
Nik Kalolo ended his Maryville career with an 83. Kalolo has been in the ascots line up consistently over the past four years and will leave after playing the most competitive rounds of any player in Maryville history.
Methodist University came from behind with a final round to overtake the 36 hole leader, Greensboro. Their round of even par 288 gave them a comfortable seven stroke victory in the team competition, taking the team title and clinching an automatic bid into next month's Division III national championship.
Logan Lanier of the host team Lagrange College won the individual title at seven under par after rounds of 70-70-69=209. The only other player to Stephen Shepard of Huntingdon College at four under par.
