Softball Scots fall to Piedmont 7-4, 12-2

The Maryville College softball team dropped a pair of games to USA South foe Piedmont College on Sunday on the campus of Maryville College. The Lions outscored the Scots 7-4 and 12-2 to move to 8-0 on the season while MC fell to 0-12.

 

The first game featured a 3-for-3 effort by MC's Hannah Youngdeer. The sophomore right fielder drove in a Taylor Dockery with a double in the 1st inning before stroking an RBI single in the 5th inning to score Dockery once again. Kalyn Jones, Megan Mihaliak, Taylor Dockery, and Caitlin Cox added base hits to MC's offensive attack. Kayla Aloisi (0-2) suffered the loss after a complete game effort on the mound. She scattered 13 hits while surrendering six earned runs.

 

The nightcap saw MC's Megan Mihaliak go 2-for-3 at the plate. Lexie Randolpf (0-6) went 2.1 innings on the mound surrendering a dozen Lion hits.

 

Maryville will look to earn their first victory of the season with a double header against Southern Wesleyan on Monday on MC's campus facility.
