Maryville College Women Golfers Improve by 10 Strokes in Round Two

The Maryville College women's golf team overcame their first round jitters and made a 10 stroke improvement in round two of the Birmingham Southern Shoot Out.

The Scots 371 total along with each their opening round 381 gave them a 452 total and a 14th place finish in a field of 15 teams.  Grace Gass once again led her team in scoring by posting her second consecutive 86 for a 172 total.  Sarah Grace Holland's 88 was seven better than her opening round 95, giving her a 183 total.

Freshmen Elaina Davis' round of 97 gave her a 196 total and teammate Heather Ellis posted a second round 100 for a 201 total.

Berry College (302-302= 604) held a three stroke lead after round one befor increasing it for a ten stroke victory over the runner-up Methodist University.

Huntingdon College's LeAnn Cahoon followed up her opening round 69 with a 73 for a 142 total and a three stroke victory over Berry's Jodie Hodapp.

The Scots will be back in action on September 19th and 20th at the Tennessee Wesleyan Fall Invitational.
