Senior Sarah Grace Holland saved the best round of her career for last while leading the Maryville Scots to a new 18 hole school record at the Cumberland University Phoenix Invitational on Tuesday at Windtree CC in Mt Juliet, TN.
Holland's ten over par 82 was the best round of her career by three strokes and led her team to a new mark of 347 for 18 holes. Today's round tops the previous record that this team set last fall by 10 strokes.
Grace Gass was Maryville's top finisher of the week with a 15th place finish with rounds of 85-83 and a two day total of 168. Alexis Meyer shot 85-86=171 for 19th place. Holland's 94-82=176 put her in 22nd and Elaina Davis finished 27th with 102-96=198.
Brenau University won the team title by coming from behind in the final round with a tournament best round of 298 and a two day total of 610 to defeat the host team Cumberland University by eight strokes.
Alexa Rippy of Trevecca was the individual champion with a two under par total of 142 after rounds of 69-73.
