Scots' women finish 7th in initial round of MC Invitational

The Maryville College women's golf team participated in the 2017 Maryville College Invitational at Egwani Farms Golf Course in Rockford, Tennessee on Monday afternoon.

 

The Scots finished the first day in 7th place with a first-round score of 418, 130-strokes over par. The University of the Cumberlands has set the team pace for the tournament turning in a +19 307 on the day.

 

Individually, Carlee Shoemaker of the University of the Cumberlands finished the par-72 course with a 74. Tied for second after the initial round were Danielle Bates (Tennessee Wesleyan) and Lucia Pena (University of the Cumberlands) who each tallied a three-over-par 75.

 

Maryville's top finisher was Elaina Davis with a 20-over par, 92. Davis will enter the second day in 32nd place. Katelyn Witucki posted a 96 for 37th place while Katelyn Curtis and McCall Smallwood added a 105 and 125 respectively.

The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start.
