Scots finish 11th in first round of Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational

The Maryville College women's golf program participated in the Chick-fil-A Collegiate Invitational in Rome, Georgia on Monday afternoon. The squad tallied a 361 on the 5,851-yard Coosa Country Club course for an 11th place finish after the first round.

 

Oglethorpe University set the team pace with a 309 followed by Birmingham-Southern College's 310.

 

Individually, Oglethorpe's Angel Sanchez leads the 79-player field with a one over par 73. Birmingham-Southern's Emma Phillips is one shot off the pace with a 74.

 

Maryville's Katelyn Witucki finished the first round tied for 14th place with an 81. Grace Wischmeyer posted an 87 for a 45th place finish. Wischmeyer deposited a pair of birdies during her first round of action. Elaina Davis, Grace Gass, and Hannah Doherty tallied a 96, 97, and 98 respectively.

 

The Scots will conclude the second round and the tournament on Tuesday morning.
