Scots finish 15th at Callaway Garden's Collegiate Invitational

The Maryville College women's golf opened their 2019 spring schedule with a rain-shortened 15th place finish at the Callaway Garden's Collegiate Invitational in Pine Mountain, Georgia on Saturday.

 

Methodist University claimed team honors with a collective round of 308, just 16 shots off par. Maryville finished the 5,826-yard challenge with a 378 team total, 86 shots above par.

 

Centre College's Bailey Plourde and Washington & Lee University's Beth Ann Townsend tied for the individual crown after each posted a 75, only a pair of shots off the par-73 course. Katelyn Witucki was Maryville's top finisher with a 19-over par, 92. The sophomore finished 65th. Grace Wischmeyer tallied a 94 placing 71st with a 21-over par outing. Fellow Scots Elaina Davis and Hannah Doherty each posted a 96 placing 77th. Kaysi Royston was MC's final scorer with a 117 finishing 87th.

 

Maryville will now prepare for the Tennessee Wesleyan University Invitational on March 25-26 in Loudon, Tennessee at the Tennessee National Golf Club.
