Katelyn Witucki records her 20th career birdie as Scots place 10th at Birmingham Southern College Southern Shootout

The Maryville College women's golf team finished the Birmingham Southern College Southern Shootout on Tuesday with a 407 improving 38 strokes on their first-round action. The Scots finished 445-407 (852) for a 10th place finish over the Par 72, 5,802 yards Bent Brook Golf Course.

 

Methodist University and Berry College each claimed the team crown with a 318-302 (620). Individually Alexandra Williams of Methodist won the solo title after shooting a 74-73 (147) for a three-over-par effort.

 

Maryville's top performer was sophomore Katelyn Witucki. Katelyn tallied an 86-81 (167) while recording her career 20th birdie adding to her accumulating school-record. Her effort placed her 39th in the field.

 

Additional scorers for the Scots included: Grace Gass (101-89=190, 54th place), McCall Smallwood (128-111=239, 58th place), and Kaysi Royston (130-126=256, 59th place).

 

The event in Birmingham concludes the women's regular season schedule for 2019.
