Scots close out USA South regular season with a win at Ferrum

The Scots finished their run through the regular season with a 3-0 victory in Ferrum Virginia on Wednesday afternoon.

Maryville would get the scoring underway in the 29th minute as reigning USA Freshman of the Week Sierra Siegel found the back of the net unassisted. Maryville would out shoot Ferrum throughout the first half and take the 1-0 lead into the break.

The second half would be more of the same for the Scots. Sophomore Taylor Emerson would put the second goal on the board in the 64th minute of play. The final goal of the afternoon would be scored by Lydia Fusion with the help of Tess Eisnaugle. The Scots would have the better of the opportunities on the day attempting 17 shots to only seven for Ferrum.

The Scots finish the regular season at 11-3-1 overall and 9-1-1 in their first year of USA South action. Maryville now advances to the USA South post season. The Scots will host a first round game on Saturday at 7:00 against Ferrum.
