Lynx end Scots' two-game win streak, 2-0

The Maryville College Scots couldn't find their offensive footing on Sunday morning, as MC fell to host Rhodes College, 2-0.

The Lynx outshot Maryville, 12-6, while posting eight of those shots on goal. MC had only three shots on goal, as Rhodes' goalie Anna Maldanado would turn away all three.

After a scoreless first half, Rhodes College would strike in the second half of play. Sydnie Schindler would score the goal in the 60th minute of action. The unassisted score put the Lynx in control, 1-0.

Just 16 minutes later, Jenny Neil would find the back of the net from Katelyn Curtis. The goal would give Rhodes College the win, 2-0.

Maryville (2-2-1) didn't see a single player with more than one shot, as the Scots spread the attack between six players. MacKenzie Yaksic, Kara Tubb and Hannah Clothier each had a shot on goal for Maryville.

Rhodes College (1-2-1) was led by Schindler who recorded a goal with a trio of shots. She had two on goal, as Liz Vega also recorded three shots. Neil recorded a goal, while Curtis added an assist for the Lynx.

Maryville will look next to host Berea College on Thursday, Sept. 14. First touch for the match is slated for 7 p.m.
