MC's Guillaume places second at Carson Newman Invitational

The Maryville College women's cross country team ran their second meet of the season at the Carson Newman Invitational on Saturday.

 

The Scots completed the 5K race in an average of 24:34, good for fourth place of the four participating institutions. Carson-Newman claimed the team crown with an average finish time of 22:23.

 

Priscah Jenell from Carson Newman paced the crowd of 41 runners with a first-place finish of 20:48. Maryville's Emily Guillaume finished second with a 21:33 time. Other Scots that finished the course in less than 26 minutes included June Rosenbarker (18th) 24:05, Chandler Chastain (25th) 25:20, Makayla May (27th) 25:53, and Molly Ridgeway (28th) 25:59.

 

Maryville will now prepare for the MC Invitational hosted on campus on October 3rd.
