Cook, McFann shine for Scots at Berea Invitational

The Maryville College cross country program raced at the Berea College Invitational on Saturday in Berea, Kentucky.

 

The men finished 6th of 10 highly competitive institutions. MC freshman Daniel Beckett finished 7th out of 107 runners, the first NCAA Division III harrier to cross the finish line. He finished the 8K course in 27:31 just 17-second shy of the Scots individual record. Senior Sean Hagstrom finished 39th with a time of 29:43 while freshman Lee Parker finished 71st with a 32:59 pace.

 

The MC women finished 7th of 10 schools with Susanna Cook (34th-22:05) and Sarah McFann (49th-22:57) leading Maryville's team effort among 107 female runners.

 

Coach Tyson Murphy's squad will now train for the Maryville College Invitational scheduled for October 1st.
