    (TALLULAH FALLS, GA) - The 2016 USA South Women's Cross Country Championship took place on Saturday, October 29 st the Tallulah Falls School Farm Course in Tallulah Falls, Georgia. Piedmont College captured the championship for the first time in program history. The Lions topped second place Meredith College by 43 points. Individually, Piedmont's Reese Bowles won the meet as she finished the 6,000 meter course first in a time of 23:42.

    (FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.) - Meredith College, under the direction of second-year Head Coach Leslie Payne, was picked in the USA South Athletic Conference preseason coaches poll to capture the women's cross country title in 2016. Last season, the Avenging Angels took home the program's third consecutive Conference championship. Meredith received 11 of 13 possible first place votes, to go along with 142 points. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.

Meredith College captured the championship for the third consecutive season. The Avenging Angels topped second place Covenant College by 12 points. Individually, Sarah Bearden won the meet as she finished the 6,000 meter course first in a time of 23:54.

    The Maryville College women’s cross country team finished fifth at the 34th annual Sewanee Invitational on Saturday morning on the campus on the University of the South. MC junior Emily Guillaume set a new school record by completing the 6K race in 23:48.91 and finishing second among the 74 runners.
