The Maryville College men's basketball team dropped their fourth consecutive challenge with a 54-52 loss at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee on Wednesday evening.
The Scots' Jaumonee Byrd paced the visitors with a double-double effort. The sophomore posted 16 points on 8-of-19 shooting while hauling down a dozen rebounds. Senior guard J.P. Burris added a 4-for-8 effort from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points.
Sewanee (4-2) was led by Jorden William's 17 points. His Tigers shot 45% from the field while Maryville hit only 31% of their shots.
Maryville (1-5) will prepare to host Berry College on Saturday. Tip-off is slated for 3:00 in the Boydson Baird Gymnasium.
