Maryville College's Felix Uadiale has been named the USA South men's basketball Rookie of the Week following his efforts in the Maryville College Thanksgiving Classic.
The freshman forward from McDonough, Georgia averaged 7.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game as the Scots posted a 0-2 record last week. In an 83-81, overtime, loss to Oglethorpe, Uadiale totaled 13 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals. In a 95-82 loss to second-ranked Emory, Uadiale scored two points and grabbed five rebounds.
On the season, Uadiale is averaging 10.8 points per game while bringing down seven boards a challenge. He is shooting 59-percent from the floor.
"Felix is coming along very well," stated Maryville College Head Coach Raul Placeres. "I like the way he attacks the boards especially his seven offense rebounds against Oglethorpe. He continues to get better and as the season progresses, we should see even more strides in his development on the court."
Maryville (0-5) opens their USA South schedule on Wednesday, December 4th as the Scots host Covenant College at 7:30 p.m. in MC's Boydson Baird Gymnasium.
