The Scots' Bray ranks tied for eighth individually, as he posted a two-under 70 on the 6,589-yard Highland Country Club course. Cofer – a freshman on the Orange and Garnet – posted a one-over 73 to keep the Scots at eight-under.
Overall, Huntingdon College leads the tournament as a squad, posting an impressive 11-under 277. Methodist University sits just behind them at 10-under, while LaGrange College ranks third with a three-over 291.
Brevard College's Austin Fisher and Huntingdon College's Drew Mathers lead the way individually, as the duo shot matching five-under 67s. Methodist's Brantley Phillips ranks third with a four-under 68, as four players are tied for fourth at three under.
In all, 13 golfers shot below par, while an additional six are even after day one.
Bray posted four birdies on the day to go with an eagle on the 560-yard, par-5 10th. Cofer played consistently through the first round, tallying a trio of birdies to remain at one-over.
