The Maryville College men's golf program took on Tunica National for a 54-hole challenge during the Rhodes College Classic concluding Monday, September 23rd.
Huntingdon College took team honors completing the course in rounds of 290-280-276 (846) for an 18-under par collective effort. Maryville finished the event in 20th place posting rounds of 323-313-302 (938).
Individually, Huntingdon's Drew Mathers took solo honors with a strong 65-70-67 (202) 14-under par outing. Denison University's Christian Early was on Mather's heels with a 68-68-69 (205) 11-under par finish.
Maryville's top finisher was Tampa, Florida native Jacob Dunlap. The freshman mastered the course better each round with a 78-72-70 (220) finishing 22nd among 104 collegiate linksters.
MC's Brady Orr had a strong final round finishing 81st with rounds of 82-81-75 (238). Garrett Compliment tallied an 88th place finish with an 82-80-79 (241) effort. Jake Duncan also lowered his score in the final round with scores of 82-84-78 (244). Andy Cofer completed the Scots' scoring with round of 81-80-84 (245).
Maryville will now prepare for the Royal Lakes Invitational in Flowery Branch, Georgia on October 6-8.
