Rakhmonberdiev's hat trick secures 5-0 win over Berea

Maryville College junior midfielder Johnny Rakhmonberdiev secured a hat trick while also dishing out an assist to help the Scots defeat Berea College 5-0 in a USA South match in Berea, Kentucky on Tuesday evening.

In the sixth minute of the first half, the Sevierville, Tennessee native tallied an unassisted goal with his second score of the season. The eventual game-winner was his 13th career goal in the orange and garnet.

Just three minutes later, Johnny placed a rocket off a Ryan Clift pass to secure the brace and a 2-0 advantage at the half.

In the 58th minute, just 13 minutes into the second half, Rakhmonberdiev directed an assist – his third of the season- to Jace Burchfiel. The sophomore from Maryville tallied his fourth goal of the season pacing the Scots offense along with Rakhmonberdiev.

Just before the 62nd minute, Johnny completed the hat trick with an unassisted blast to make the score 4-0.

With 30-seconds remaining in the road victory, Davis Clothier tallied his first career assist with a pass to Jorge Valdivia. Valdivia's strike into the net was the sophomore's first of the season.

The win keeps the Scots undefeated in USA South play (4-0) while recording a 6-2 overall mark. The victory was MC's fourth in a row. The loss sinks Berea to 3-7 overall and 0-4 in USA South challenges.

Maryville will prepare to host USA South foe Huntingdon College at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 28th.
