The Maryville College men's cross country team finished seventh of ten NCAA programs at the Mike and Mary Kay Invitational in Berea, Kentucky on Saturday morning.
Berea College took the team honors with a total time of 2:14:49 over the 8K challenging course. Maryville averaged 32:44 per runner with an overall time of 2:43:40.
Among over 80 harriers, Berea's Tanner Carson took individual top honors with a 25:30 pace. Maryville senior runner Daniel Beckett finished 11th overall with a 5:36 mile pace that translated to a 27:50 8K time. MC's Ryan Lay finished 38thth overall with a 29:57 effort. Additional runners placing for the Scots included Richard Martin (62nd, 33:22), Parker Owens (66th, 34:57), Cooper Harrison (73rd, 37:32), 37:32, Lee Parker (75th, 39:08), and Matthew Finstad (78th, 40:23).
Maryville will now prepare for the Maryville College Invitational on Friday, September 27.
