The Maryville College Lady Scots softball team fell to 3-21 on the season and 2-10 in USA South action following a double header sweep at the hands of Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Alabama on Saturday afternoon.
In the first challenge, the Hawks defeated MC 3-1. Maryville's Kayla Aloisi (2-9) scattered only eight hits over a complete game effort but suffered the loss on the mound. The Scots' offense managed only five hits during the tough road loss. Lexie Randolph stroked a double while Taylor produced the Scots' lone RBI with a hit in the sixth inning.
The series finale featured an 8-0 run ruled loss for the Scots. Maryville stroked out four team hits while Huntingdon (12-9, 8-2 USA South) pounded out eight hits in four innings. The Hawks took advantage of three key MC fielding errors to pull away in the fourth inning. Lexie Randolph (1-12) suffered the loss after surrendering four earned runs in 3.1 innings of work.
Maryville will prepare for an end of the week road trip that features six tough challenges at Salem College, William Peace University, and Methodist University.
