MARYVILLE, Tenn. – Hayley Harmon, a senior guard at Harrison High School in Harrison, Ohio, has committed to continue her academic and basketball careers at Maryville College.
Harmon, a 5-foot-6 guard, was a two-time all-conference selection for the Wildcats and head coach Troy Kinnett. This District 16 all-star earned eight conference athlete of the week accolades after averaging seven points per game while shooting over 40% from the perimeter. Harmon's talents extend beyond the court being named a McGill Scholar for her diligence in the classroom.
"Hayley is an excellent addition to our backcourt," Maryville College Head Coach Darrin Travillian stated. "She can clearly knock down shots from deep, and she can get herself to the rim. A tireless worker, she is dedicated to making herself better each day. We love her attitude and team-first approach. As a member of the inaugural McGill Scholarship class, Hayley embodies the spirit of the true student-athlete. Hayley has the ability to compete on both ends of the floor, which will certainly serve her well here."
Hayley is the daughter of Dave and Joann Harmon.
She joins a Maryville College women's basketball program that has been led by Darrin Travillian for the past nine seasons. Travillian's squads have posted an amazing 193-61 career mark while going 92-16 in USA South Athletic Conference challenges over the past seven years. The program boasts eight Great South Athletic Conference titles, four USA South regular-season crowns, and a USA South tournament championship in 2015-16. MC's women's basketball has sent 22 squads to the NCAA post-season tournament, five under the direction of Coach Travillian.
