Witucki's 77 lifts Scots to a 3rd place finish in first round of Rhodes Invitational

The Maryville College women's golf program finished the first round of the Rhodes College Invitational in Memphis, Tennessee in third place among seven NCAA Division III collegiate programs.

The Scots posted a 56-over par (344) effort while tournament leader Washington University-St. Louis finished with a 281 to pace the field. Washington University's Samantha Haubenstock leads the individual field with a six-under par 66.

Maryville's top performer was Katelyn Witucki. The junior finished with a five-over par 77 for a 15th place finish going into the second round on Sunday. Hannah Dougherty tallied an 85 while Bailee Powell and Laura Russell posted rounds of 90 and 92 respectively.

The Scots will conclude the invitational on Sunday.
