Maryville College dominated every facet of the game on Saturday afternoon except the scoreboard as they tied Piedmont College 0-0.
While the scoring was nonexistent, the action was furious for most of the game between the Scots of Maryville College and the Lions of Piedmont College. Maryville was dominant throughout the game out shooting the Lions 27-3 and having more than three times as many corner kick opportunities (10-3). Junior keeper Michelle Foulke stopped both shots that Piedmont could manage to get on goal in the 110 minute affair.
"It was disappointing tonight, we totally out played them and had opportunities to score and we just didn't get it done tonight," said head coach Pepe Fernandez. "We had so many opportunities tonight and not being able to finish Piedmont is going to hurt us down the stretch in this tough USA South."
The tie makes the Scots 7-1-1 on the year and 5-0-1 in USA South play. Maryville will host Centre College on Tuesday evening at 5:00 pm.
