The Maryville College women's soccer team battled to a 2-2 tie on Saturday at Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia.
The top two programs in the USA South's western division combined for 31 shots on the afternoon, but keepers Abbey Coleman (Maryville) and Miranda McNalley (Piedmont) posted shutouts in the pair of overtime periods.
Maryville lit up the scoreboard in the 34th minute when Jenna Clothier blasted a free-kick past McNalley for her third goal of the season.
The Scots went into the half with a 1-0 advantage with each team posting five shots.
The Lions offense came alive in the second half out-shooting MC 12-3 during the period.
Piedmont tallied the equalizer just after the 59th minute when Cassidy Reich beat Coleman for her ninth goal of the season.
Just three minutes later, MC's Jenna Clothier lofted a perfectly executed corner kick to Shannon Reagan. Reagan promptly tallied her 12th goal if the season to put the Scots ahead with only 24-minutes remaining in regulation.
With Piedmont's offense on a constant attack to close out the match, Cassidy Reich found the back of the net unassisted for her 10th goal of the season in the 81st minute forcing overtime.
MC's Abbey Coleman faced nine shots on goal throughout the match recording seven saves. Piedmont's Miranda McNalley faced five shots on goal posting a trio of saves.
Following the wash, Maryville is 11-2-2 on the season and 4-0-1 in USA South play. Piedmont is 12-0-3 on the season and 4-0-1 in league action.
The Scots retain their 10-match unbeaten streak and will prepare to challenge USA South rival Covenant College on Thursday, October 19th in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
