Hill recorded her ninth career goal and her third of the 2018 campaign early on. All three of Hill's goals this season have gone as game-winning touches for the Scots.
Yaksic tallied her second goal of the season and the third of her career late in the first half, as MC took the key conference victory.
Maryville College struck first just 2:38 into the match. Shannon Reagan go free down the left side, as she beat her defender. The junior launched a shot from just inside the box, as a Covenant defender blocked it. Hill collected the loose ball, spinner to her right for a low roller into the bottom right corner from 10 yards out. In the third minute, the hometown Scots led 1-0.
In the 41st minute, Maryville would strike again, this time off a Covenant miscue. The Georgian Scots stole the ball, kicking it back into their box. Keeper Rachel Lemay collected the ball, before pushing a kick out to the top of the box. Covenant never made a move it, as Yaksic lofted a hard-hit shot into the upper left corner of a wide-open net from 25 yards out. She gave the Scots a 2-0 lead they would take to the break.
Maryville College led the way after the opening 45 minutes. The Orange and Garnet posted eight shots with five on goal, as Covenant managed just four shots. The Georgian Scots had just one shot on goal, as Abbey Coleman turned it away for Maryville.
Lemay, the Covenant keeper, had three saves in the first half, as she gave up a pair of goals.
Bailey Sipos had a pair of shots with one on frame, as both Hill and Yaksic made their lone shots count in the first half.
Paige Simons had two of Covenant's four shots, as she had the one shot on goal for the USA South foe.
Covenant College would come out the second half, matching the Scots with five total shots. The Georgian Scots posted three of those on goal, as MC added just one shot on goal in the 2-0 victory.
Maryville (7-4-0, 4-0-0 USA South) was led by the goals of Yaksic and Hill. Sipos had three shots, as Reagan added a pair on the afternoon.
Coleman was perfect in net, as she turned away each of the four shots she faced in the 90-minute match.
Covenant (4-6-1, 1-2-0) saw Kailey Burrell record a trio of shots with two on goal, as Simons finished with a pair of shots on the night.
Maryville College will continue their USA South swing, as the Scots travel to Macon, Ga. on Sunday, Oct. 7. MC will take on the Wolves of Wesleyan College (Ga.) with a first touch slated for 1:00 p.m.
