The Maryville College women's soccer team claimed the USA South Western Division regular season title with a 5-0 victory over LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia on Saturday morning.
Maryville College took the lead in the 7th minute when sophomore Bailey Sipos took a pass from Shannon Reagan for her 14th goal of the season. The dish was Reagan's 5th assist of her junior campaign while Sipos' goal was the 29th of her career in the orange and garnet.
The Scots blasted 20 shots in the first half, directing eight on goal. MC's defense held the Panthers to no shots before the intermission.
Just three minutes later, Reagan tallied an unassisted goal for her 7th of the year to make the score 4-0.
The Scots finished the contest with a 38-0 shot advantage taking 17 attacks on goal. MC's defense pitched the shutout and the trio of Abbey Coleman, Spencer Ann Mitchell, and Hayli Meeks shared the victory in net for Maryville.
Maryville advances to 11-5 overall while finishing USA South play 8-0 on the season. LaGrange falls to 4-9-1 overall and 1-6 in league challenges.
The USA South Western Division regular season title is the Scots' 4th since joining the league and Maryville's 13th conference championship under the direction of Head Coach Pepe Fernandez.
With the conclusion of the regular season schedule, Maryville will await the USA South pairings for the upcoming league tournament.
