Reagan's goal, Coleman's play in net leads Scots to 1-0 victory over Piedmont

Maryville College moved to 3-0 in USA South play on Friday night, as the Scots defeated conference rival Piedmont College, 1-0.

Shannon Reagan scored an early first-half goal, as Abbey Coleman locked down the Scots' nets for 90 minutes to earn the one-goal victory.

Reagan scored in the 15th minute, as she added to her USA South-leading goal tally. The senior collected her own loose ball, going one-on-one with Lion keeper Miranda McNalley. Reagan slipped it into the lower left corner for her 11th goal of the season.

The score also ranks as her 35th career score.

Piedmont found eight shots on frame to just seven by the Scots. Coleman turned away each of the eight she faced, as she moved to 6-4 during the 2019 campaign.

Maryville (7-4, 3-0 USA South) was led by Reagan and Lexie Hill who both had three shots with a pair on frame. Alyssa Kral and Jenna Clothier had two shots with one on goal, while Taylor Frizen and Hannah Clothier had two shots each. Macy Lindsey had one shot on goal, while Kelly Allen added a shot.

Piedmont College (7-5-1, 2-1) was paced by Kaylee King who tallied four shots and two on frame.

Maryville will have a week off, before they host a USA South weekend. MC takes on Huntingdon College at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, before they face off with Agnes Scott College at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13.
