Scots conclude regular season with 10-0 win over LaGrange; MC claims 2019 USA South West Division title

The Maryville College women's soccer program claimed their third straight USA South west division title with a 10-0 regular season finale victory over LaGrange College on Sunday afternoon on MC's home pitch.

The Scots are now 22-0-1 over the past three seasons in regular season conference play and with today's victory sport an 18-match win streak.

The match provided a list of first goals for a trio of Scots.

Sophomore Sydney O'Hara tallied her first career goal before turning it into her first career brace with a pair of goals in the 72nd and 89th minute. Senior Kelly Allen and Junior Alyssa Kral, both standout defenders, posted their first career goals in the 8th and 19th minute respectively.

In the second half Jenna Clothier drilled her 6th goal of the season in the 48th minute while Taylor Frizen took a Clothier pass and secured her 12th goal of the season in the 56th minute.

Senior Shannon Reagan added to her conference leading goal, assist, and point totals with a "haul" and an assist during the league challenge. Reagan completed her 16th goal of the season off a Lexie Hill assist in the 5th minute. Fourteen minutes later she assisted on Kral's header. Shannon deposited her 17th goal in the 24th minute dribbling through the defense and directing the score into the lower right of the net. In the 47th minute Reagan collected a saved shot by Lexie Hill and beat the keeper for the hat trick. Shannon completed the "haul" when she hit the back of the net for the 19th time this season in the 51st minute. She finishes the regular season leading the USA South in each offensive category with 19 goals, nine assists, and 47 points.

The 10-0 match, Maryville's first since October 4, 2017 against Berea, secures the top divisional seed in the USA South's west division.

The top-two divisional seeds receive first round byes and will host the quarterfinals on Saturday, November 2. The semifinal and championship games will be played at the site of the highest remaining divisional seed after quarterfinal round play on Friday and Saturday, November 8 and 9. If the highest-remaining divisional seeds are the same seed, the tournament semifinals and final will head to the West due to a predetermined rotation.

Seeding for the tournament is determined by a point system. Each Conference win is equal to three points while each Conference tie is equal to one point.
