Maryville College's Meredith Bonee recorded her fourth triple-double of the season to help the Scots rally to defeat Johnson University 3-0 in Strawberry Plains, Tennessee on Tuesday evening. MC took the tough non-conference road challenge by the scores of 25-15, 29-27, and 25-21.
Bonee recorded a match-high 11 kills while dishing out 13 assists. On defense, the sophomore from Knoxville returned 18 digs. Saidee McDaniel directed the offense with 21 assists. Kelley Wandell was strong at the net with seven kills while Brianne Sidner and Dejane Hester-Taylor each added six kills. Freshman Natalie Watts paced the defense with 19 digs while Sidner completed a double-double with a dozen digs.
The victory advances the Scots to 11-6 on the season. Maryville will jump back into USA South action next Saturday in Berea, Kentucky. They will challenge Brevard and Piedmont.
