The Maryville College women's cross country team finished fifth of ten NCAA programs at the Mike and Mary Kay Invitational in Berea, Kentucky on Saturday morning.
Centre College took the team honors with a total time of 1:39:25 over the 5K challenging course. Maryville averaged 22:09 per runner with an overall time of 1:50:49.
Among over 90 harriers, Centre's Alison Anderson took individual top honors with a 19:17 pace. Maryville rookie runner Lilly Simms finished third overall with a 6:19 mile pace that translated to a 19:40 5K time. MC's Lea Mulligan finished 14th overall with a 20:30 effort. Additional runners placing for the Scots included Hannah Mattison (37th, 22:00), Maleah Wooten (58th, 23:43), Mikala Wooten (64th, 24:54), Emily Cooper (66th, 25:14), Rebecca Starks (72nd, 24:54), Sarah McFann (81st, 29:10), and Kennedy Hardnett (91st, 35:27).
Maryville will now prepare for the Maryville College Invitational on Friday, September 27.
