Box Score The LaGrange College Panthers used an amazing 65% shooting effort that included an 8-for-12 success rate from beyond the arc to defeat the Maryville College Lady Scots hoopsters by the score of 68-63 on Sunday afternoon in LaGrange, Georgia.
While LaGrange was hot, Maryville managed only a 43% shooting effort from the floor. The host out rebounded Maryville 33-18 during the challenge.
Maryville (19-4, 12-2 USA South) was led by senior guard Lailah Farmer. Farmer posted a team-high 17 points while dishing out six assists. Alex Bond added 13 points while Lauren Trent went 4-for-8 from long distance for a dozen points.
LaGrange advances to 14-9 on the season and 8-6 within the league.
The loss snaps an 11 game win streak for the Scots, who remain in first place in the USA South southern division following the set back.
Maryville will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Demorest, Georgia to take on the Lions of Piedmont College in another key USA South road challenge.
