Box Score The Maryville College women's basketball team picked up their 20th win of the season on Saturday, as the Lady Scots knocked off Huntingdon College, 92-48, on Senior Day.
Both seniors played well in the game, as Maryville took a 15-2 run in the beginning of the second half to extend a 45-31 halftime lead. The Lady Hawks only managed a 14-percent outing from the floor in the second half, shooting 27 percent for the game.
The Lady Scots shot 51.4 percent (36-of-70) from the floor, while bucketing 13-of-14 (92.9 percent) of their charity tosses on the day.
Senior Lauren Burnette led the Scots with 16 points, while pulling down five boards and four assists. This perimeter specialist finished her Maryville career with over 200 3-pointers, while knocking down more than 41 percent of her shots. She has more than 300 career rebounds and 800 points.
Fellow senior Lailah Farmer neared a triple-double, as the senior finished her last game on Randy Lambert Court with 13 points, eight assists and eight steals. She also shot 5-of-5 from the charity stripe. Farmer will leave Maryville College as the all-time assist leader for the program, having dished out more than 450 assists during her career. She has also pulled down more than 215 rebounds in 111 career appearances.
The Lady Scots were also helped by Kelsey Brown in the post. She pulled down 15 rebounds, while bucketing 14 points. Mindy Brackins added 12 points, as Alex Bond and Jordan Ballard each finished with nine points for Maryville (20-5, 13-3 USA South).
Huntingdon College (15-9, 7-8) was led by Pat Pickens who had 11 points and nine rebounds.
After claiming the USA South Division crown, Maryville awaits for seeding in the upcoming USA South tournament that begins on Thursday, February 27th.
