Box Score The Maryville College Lady Scots basketball team rallied to extend their winning streak to ten games with a 59-48 come from behind victory over LaGrange College on Saturday afternoon in MC's Boydson Baird Gymnasium.
The Panthers shot 52% in the first half including a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc and took a 32-31 lead into the locker room at the half.
The Scots rallied with a clamp down defense, allowing only 16 total points in the closing period. MC forced 27 turnovers and allowed only a 3-for-13 (23%) shooting effort to finish out the victory.
Lailah Farmer tied MC's career leader in assists Alicia Brown with her 435th dish during her tenure. Farmer finished with six assists, six steals, and nine points. Mackenzie Puckett deposited a team-high 13 points in only 17 minutes of action. Lauren Trent and Kelsey Brown each sank eight points. Brown finished with a team-high six rebounds while Lauren Burnett grabbed five boards.
LaGrange (12-9, 6-6 USA South) was paced by Shaye Butler's 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting. She also tallied seven rebounds. Mayana LeGrande added 10 points while Madison Barker hauled down a game-high eight rebounds.
Maryville (18-3, 11-1 USA South) will now prepare for a tough conference road challenge at Huntingdon College next Saturday. Tip-off is slated in Montgomery, Alabama for 3:00 EST.
