Box Score The Maryville College women's basketball team used a strong defensive showing while five Scots finished in double-digit scoring in a 72-41 USA South victory over Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia on Friday evening.
MC forced 28 Agnes Scott turnovers while holding the Scotties to a 27% shooting effort from beyond the arc to pull away for the league road win.
Maryville's Haley Talbott dropped four three-pointers finishing with a game-high 16 points. Lauren Biliter connected on 50% of her shots including three treys for 15 points. Madison Maples completed MC's perimeter attack with a dozen points all from beyond the arc. In the paint, Allyson Freiermuth and Rachel Hawn combined for a 9-for-16 shooting effort for a combined 22 points and 11 rebounds.
Agnes Scott (2-10, 1-4 USA South) was paced by Garis Grant's 14 points and five rebounds. Natasha Banks added 13 points in the loss for the Scotties.
Maryville remains undefeated in USA South challenges (6-0) while extending their overall record to 14-3. They continue on their Georgia swing Saturday traveling to Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia.
