Box Score Five Fighting Scots posted double-digit scoring efforts to help lead Maryville past USA South foe Agnes Scott College by the score of 108-18 on Friday evening in MC's Boydson Baird Gymnasium.
Jordan Heifner paced the Scots with a game-high 19 points on 8-of-9 shooting including a 3-for-4 effort from beyond the arc. The freshman pulled down a trio of rebounds while recording six assists and six of MC's 22 steals.
Maryville's bench outpaced the Scotties 67-2 with Courtney Carruthers sinking 4-of-5 treys for 18 points. Freshman Audrey Sanders tallied a career-high 16 points while sinking 4-of-5 perimeter baskets. Hannah Jones was strong in the paint with a dozen points and seven rebounds. Sophomore Hayley Harmon posted a career-high 11 points while dishing out five assists. Freshman Meredith Ward tallied a basket while dishing out a team-high seven of MC's 36 assists on the evening. Ward added eight boards in the league victory.
Senior Kelley Wandell paced both squads with a game-high nine rebounds. The Clinton, Tennessee native joined the 500-rebound club and was celebrated with the game ball by Coach Travillian after the game. Wandell has averaged 6.2 rebounds over each of her 82 career games in the orange and garnet.
Agnes Scott (0-7, 0-7 USA South) was paced by Shay Sweat's 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting.
Maryville (5-0, 5-0 USA South) finished the game shooting 62-percent from the floor and 52-percent from long distance.
Maryville will host the Scotties to complete the conference series on Saturday with a 3:00 p.m. tip-off.
