MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Brooklyn Muccillo scored two goals, leading Maryville to a 4-1 win over Huntingdon in the final game of the regular season . The Scots have now won two in a row as they head into the CCS Tournament.
Huntingdon scored the first goal of the match in the 22nd minute. Scored by Varian Carty on an assist from Thad Lievens, Huntingdon jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the contest.
In the 42nd minute, Muccillo found the back of the net for Maryville. His goal sent the Scots into the half with a tied game on their hands.
After tying it up in the first half, Muccillo quickly scored again in the 55th minute.
William Bryan recorded an assist on the play. For Muccillo, this marks the first multi-goal match of his collegiate career.
Just over a minute later, in the 56th minute, Maryville would score again. This time it was
Craig McIlwraith who found the back of the net to give the Scots a 3-1 lead.
The Scots' final goal of the game came in the 71st minute, off the foot of team-leading scorer, Bryan. he now has 10 goals on the year, good for third in the CCS among goal scorers.
With the victory, Maryville finishes the season with an overall record of 4-7-5 and a conference record of 4-1-1. They now await word on whether they will be hosting and who their opponent will be in the quarterfinals of the CCS tournament on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
