MC Eliminated from CCS Championship Tournament

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - A strong second-half comeback by Maryville fell short as MC was defeated by Covenant 3-2 in the CCS Tournament Semifinals.

Covenant came out in the first half on fire, scoring three goals in the first 24 minutes of the match.

The first goal came on a penalty kick taken by Jay Patterson in the 14th minute, giving covenant a 1-0 lead early.

Just four minutes later, in the 18th minute, Kade Theunissen found the net on a deep shot. Keegan Weekley and Whitt Tisdale each picked up goals on the play.

The final Covenant goal came in the 24th minute off the right foot of Nathan Laughlin on a pass from Theunissen.
