Manfred picked up six saves for the Scots, who held possession for 59 percent of the match. Both squads recorded six corner kicks in the contest.

"The men's team probably feels like we let one slip away today," Maryville head coach Pepe Fernandez said. "Ties in our conference seem to be everything. But we feel like we are a team that could make some waves in the tournament and win the thing."

Maryville finished the regular season 6-5-6 and finished sixth in the CCS with a record of 2-2-2.

"One through seven on the men's side, anything can happen," Fernandez said. " We're excited to go play and I expect us to go and play well at Piedmont."

The Scots will face off against third-place Piedmont in the quarter-final round of the 2023 CCS Championship Tournament. The Lions are 6-8-3 and 3-3 in conference play.
