DEMOREST, Ga. – Maryville faced off against conference foe Piedmont on Tuesday, falling to the Lions 9-0 at the Burgen Tennis courts.
The loss marks the Scots first 9-0 sweep since April 19, 2022, when they were swept by Brevard in North Carolina.
Sam Cocchia and
Seth Green put up the most competitive doubles match, falling 8-4 at the No. 3 position.
Jackson Meyer put on the best show in singles, falling 6-2, 6-3 in two sets at the No. 5 position. At No. 6 singles,
Kaleb Burke lost his first set 6-3, before falling 6-0 in the second.
MC is now 4-7 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
Maryville plays again Thursday at home against Franklin (3-7). Start time is 4 p.m.
