KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Maryville made a quick trip to the University of Tennessee for a CCS matchup against LaGrange Saturday night.
The Scots swept the Panthers 9-0 in the Goodfriend Tennis Center, improving to 4-7 on the season and 2-1 in conference play.

Maryville Head Coach
Doug Corbett was very impressed with his squad's play in today's matchup.
"It was awesome for our girls to be able to play in such a nice facility," Corbett said. "They did a nice job after a few nerves early in the match. We will get back to work and try to keep the momentum going!"
MC started the match with a clean sweep of doubles play. The No. 1 duo of
Elizabeth Shwaiko and
Katelyn Cook picked up an 8-4 victory, while No. 2
Eliza Cheshire and
Abby Diggs, and No. 3
Mandy Webb and
Abby Smither each recorded decisive 8-1 victories.
The Scots were just as dominant on the singles side of the matchup. In order of finish, Shwaiko kicked it off with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep of her opponent at No. 3 singles. At No. 1
Katelyn Cook knocked off her opponent by score of 6-3 and 6-1.
Abby Diggs picked up a 6-2, 6-3 victory at No. 2. The No. 4 court was the closest matchup, with
Eliza Cheshire picking up a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Abby Smither and
Mandy Webb both picked up 6-0, 6-1 victories at No. 5 and No. 6 singles respectively.
The Scots are back in action on Saturday for a CCS matchup against Huntingdon at home. Scheduled start time is 10 a.m.
