BEREA, Ky. – Maryville returned to the win column Saturday with a 9-0 thrashing of Berea.
The Scots didn't drop a set all day in improving to 6-10 overall and 2-3 in the Collegiate Conference of the South.
In doubles,
Jonathan Crane and Josh were impressive at the No. 2 position with an 8-1 victory.
Kyle Shaver and
Jackson Meyer at No. 1 prevailed 8-4 and then
Seth Green and
Ben Wyrick fought through for an 8-7 (7-4) victory at No. 3 for a 3-0 Maryville lead.
In singles, Green rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph at the No. 5 position, while Meyer was nearly as impressive at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-1 triumph and Crane at the top spot won 6-2, 6-3. Shaver at No. 2 and Fisher at No. 3 both took care of business, with Shaver winning 6-2, 7-5, and Fisher coming out on top 6-1, 6-3.
Kaleb Burke prevailed 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6.
Berea is now 0-10 overall and 0-5 in the CCS.
The Scots are home Tuesday against Johnson (9-11) in a 3 p.m. start.
