Maryville Drops Tough Matchup at Wilmington

Quakers’ 87th Minute Goal Stumps Scots

WILMINGTON, Ohio – Maryville suffered its first loss of the season Saturday afternoon, dropping a tough matchup against Wilmington (Ohio) 1-0.
 
The Quakers' goal came in the final second of the 86th minute and served as the nail in the coffin for Maryville in the heartbreaking loss.
 
The Quakers' Emma Menges scored the lone goal for Wilmington. She was assisted by Cloey Sattler.
 
Wilmington outshot Maryville 13-5 and held the advantage in corner kicks 5-3.
 
Four different players had one shot for the Scots. Chloe Chase, Sierra Lee, Delaney Muldoon, and Anne Marie Konieczny each had one attempt.
 
Maryville goalkeeper Sydney Mahr recorded five saves in the contest.
 
The Scots begin Collegiate Conference of the South Play on the road against Covenant on Wednesday. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
