Scots Drop Midweek Match in Memphis

Alcaraz Records Career-High 12 Saves

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Maryville traveled west Tuesday afternoon, falling to in-state foe Rhodes 3-0 in Memphis.

The Scots are now 3-7-2 (0-1 CCS) while the Lynx improved to 7-2 (1-0 SAA). The two squads will become conference foes in the Fall of 2026 when Maryville joins the Southern Athletic Association as a full member.

Rhodes jumped out to a 2-0 first-half lead, scoring both goals five minutes apart, in the 35th and 40th minutes. Eli Pilcher and Matthew Ahl were the goal scorers for the Lynx.

The lead increased to 3-0 in the 49th minute, as Matthew Sucato scored in the second half.

The Lynx outshot Maryville 12-1 in the first half, and 22-3 through the full 90 minutes. For the second straight match, goalkeeper Christian Alcaraz set a new career-high in saves, picking up 12 in today's contest. He recorded eight in the Scots last matchup against Belhaven.

Jorge Graniel, Craig McIlwraith and Ben Slay accounted for the Scots' shots, recording one each to round out the Maryville shot attempts. Rhodes held a 5-1 advantage in corner kick opportunities.

Maryville is back home Saturday, returning to CCS play with a match against LaGrange at the MC Soccer Complex. Kick off is scheduled for 2:30.
