ROME, Ga. – Maryville and Berry battled to a 1-1 draw in Georgia Monday night, scoring back-to-back goals midway through the first half to secure the tie.
The Scots (3-1-4) and Vikings (1-4-3) scored their lone goals of the match just three minutes apart, before going the final 59 minutes of the contest scoreless.
Maryville got on the board first, as
Ellie Schuld scored her first goal of the season in the 28th minute.
Katie Corley was credited with the assist on the scoring play. Corley is now tied for the team lead in assists with three.
MC wouldn't have the lead for long though. The Vikings scored just three minutes later with a 31st minute goal from Nicole Knight, her first of the season.
Maryville had chances to take the lead in the second half, outshooting Berry 6-2 in the final 45 minutes of play, but the Viking defense held strong late. For the game, MC outshot Berry 11-8, including and 8-5 margin in shots on goal.
The Scots also had a big advantage in corner kick opportunities, taking eight corners to Berry's one.

Maryville is back in action on Saturday, returning home for a Family and Parents Weekend matchup against Belhaven. This is the first Collegiate Conference of the South match for the Scots this season. Kick off is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
