Scots Take Advantage of Panthers Own Goal to Record Draw

MARYVILLE – Aided by an unlucky own goal, Maryville walked away with a 1-1 draw against Greenville to remain undefeated in the 2024 season.

The Scots (2-0-2) tied the match in the 86th minute, when a corner kick bounced off the head of a Panthers (0-2-1) defender and into the back of the net with just four minutes remaining in the contest.

MC and Greenville were evenly matched throughout the match, especially in the first half, where the Panthers outshot the Scots just 7-6.

The teams went into halftime knotted up 0-0. Greenville struck first in the second half, with Gabriel Sule recording the first goal of the contest in the 77th minute.
